Discovery Lab - Global (DLG) is a not-for-profit organization serving students … globally … to give them a chance to gain early hands-on experience on cutting edge technology projects. Students participate as part of a team in project-based experiential learning opportunities centered around a range of technologies. Example technology areas include:
Virtual Reality - e.g creating artificial intelligence (AI) command center
Artificial Intelligence - e.g. video game that teaches itself how to play
Big Data Analytics - e.g. structured analysis of social-media data streams
Cyber Security Fundamentals - e.g. prototype ethical hacking test bed
Wearable Technologies - e.g. cardiac alert shirt - when minutes matter
Robotics / Neural Science - e.g. thought controlled mini-humanoid robot
Expendable 3D Printed Drone Engineering - e.g. med supply delivery
… and more.
In addition, special invitation will be extended to students hand-picked to participate in the summer’s Leadership Development Track (LDT) under their chosen project area based on their demonstrated technical and professional performance. This track will be supervised by a senior level professional who has decades of technical and professional experience as a researcher, educator, technology developer, change agent, and past recipient of a national engineer of the year award. This unique leadership development experience is designed to help accelerate the technical and professional development of our nation’s future entrepreneurial innovators and industry / community leaders.

Undergraduate
DLG offers a flexible, part time internship designed to accelerate the technical and professional development of highly motivated 1st and 2nd year undergraduate students seeking challenging but rewarding project-based experiences early in their academic career. DLG projects are designed to give highly motivated students a 2 to 3 year jump start on their peers.
Veterans
DLG partnered with a university and IT company to create a Cybersecurity Camp which taught an Intro to Cybersecurity Fundamentals in our 3D virtual cybersecurity campus as an NSA-funded pilot. We continue to periodically offer this no-cost opportunity to veterans interested in exploring cybersecurity either as a potential future career or to better understanding its growing importance in their jobs or home IT network.
